In October 2020, the RMS Cranes Wind Division was contracted to provide crane support for wind turbine maintenance in Wyoming. The maintenance required the 84,000 lb rotor to be removed, which is shown in this video.
The work required one of our 600 ton Liebherr LTM1500 8.1 machines and a 80 ton Tadano GR800XL assist crane to tail the rotor to horizontal position on the ground. Our wind division provides all types of crane services for the the wind energy industry, with experience & capabilities on most turbine types and sizes.
